Naxos Neighbors Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 11, 2022

This website and the associated Naxos OD App provides a method for speedy communication between individuals who are experiencing or witnessing a possible opioid overdose (“Requesters”) and individuals (“Responders”) prepared to administer naloxone (aka Narcan), a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose.

REQUESTORS:

WE DO NOT COLLECT ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM YOUR USE OF THIS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. The only information collected concerning a Requestor is the location from which a request for assistance is submitted. We will retain history of the locations from which requests for assistance are submitted but will not disclose request locations more specifically than within a quarter mile.

RESPONDERS:

Responder Registration Information. When you sign up to be a Responder, you give us your name, email address, phone number, primary mode of transportation, zone/region and your capacities or skills (e.g., “EMT”). This information (“Personal Information”) is used only for the operation of the communication system.

Location Information. When you register, you will provide us with the means to identify your location at a time that a request for assistance is submitted and your phone is “on” for receipt of requests. We need your location so that the request for assistance can be transmitted to available Responders within a specified distance from the Requestor. If you elect to respond, we will track your location until you reach the Requestor. Location information will not be disclosed linked to your Personal Information.

Device Information. We receive information from Responders’ devices, including IP address, web browser type, mobile operating system version, phone carrier and manufacturer, application installations, device identifiers, and push notification tokens.  We use this information to ensure that the Naxos OD Platform functions properly.

Usage Information. To help us understand how you use the Naxos OD Platform and to help us improve it, we automatically receive information about your interactions with the Naxos OD Platform, like the pages or other content you view, your actions within the Naxos OD Platform, and the dates and times of your visits.

Analytics. We use a third party analytics service (Firebase Crashlytics), which uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about use of the Naxos OD Platform and report on activities and trends. This information is not shared.

Cookies. Cookies are pieces of information stored directly on the device that you are using.  Cookies allow us to collect information such as browser type, time spent on the Naxos OD Platform, pages visited, and other traffic data.  We and our service providers use the information for security purposes, to facilitate navigation, to display information more effectively, and to personalize your experience.  We also gather statistical information about use of the Naxos OD Platform in order to continually improve its design and functionality, understand how it is used, and assist us with resolving questions regarding the Naxos OD Platform.
